Job description:

Exciting new opportunity working for a well-respected health system as the Inpatient/Outpatient Coding and Auditing Analyst focused on responding to denials.

• Must have Inpatient/Outpatient Coding and Auditing experience with hands-on knowledge of writing and responding to appeals/denials

• Interact with Physicians when needed, mentoring staff and educating team members

• Defend the claim and seek payment from the payer by facilitating resolution of the denial through resubmission of supporting documentation

• Support the denial team by reviewing claims for coding accuracy and root causes for coding-related denials, as well as proposing process improvements to mitigate future denials

• Resolve queries for missing documentation and promoting departmental awareness of coding best practices.

• Serve as a resource when the Coding team needs assistance resolving complex denials and may provide direction to those staff regarding priorities and productivity goals

Requirements:

- RHIA, RHIT and/or CCS

- Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred

- 5+ years Inpatient Coding/Auditing experience required

- Prior experience with Outpatient Coding/Auditing experience highly desired

- Ideal candidate will have extensive Denials/Appeals experience

- Epic/3M environment
