Town / City: Home-based and Up to 50% Travel

Job Type: Permanent full-time

Job description:

- Perform DRG validation at hospitals across the country to identify cases of "up-coding"

- Oversee the insurance recover overpayment process as a part of an elite team

- Up to 50% travel to hospitals to perform on-site coding audits

- No supervisory duties, significant client interaction

- Motivated self-starter to work independently

- Adequate home office time to prepare and respond to DRG appeals

- Training provided through shadowing current DRG Analyst/Auditor

- Expectations- 25 charts audited per day, 400 per month (Monday - Thursday)

- Solid benefit package

- Laptop provided with 3M Encoder and Coding Clinics

- Seminar attendance reimbursed with prior approval

- Corporate credit card provided to cover all business expenses

- RHIA, RN, RHIT, CCS and/or LPN required

- RN or LPN strongly desired

- Requires 5-10 years of inpatient/DRG coding experience at a tertiary inpatient setting required

- Comprehensive knowledge of MS-DRG, APR and AP DRG logic required

- Previous traveling consultant experience desired

- $100-150K dependent on experience and location, plus bonus potential
